Practice shoot 🎥

 We called some cast members over, and practiced our first scene. Once it was over we rewatched all the clips, and attempted to put them together. Once we did that, we realized the clips looked decent separately, but we could not find a way to put them together. 






We then called a friend of ours for guidance. He knows his way around the film industry, and explained to us what we did wrong. As he went on, we realized our mistakes so far were all due to not understanding how to implement what we learnt in real life situations. Though we did do some preliminary exercises, they only involved taking pictures using different camera settings on our phones, most of which, we did not have. 

We improved the script, as some scenes would stretch out too much, and it was risky to film with our time limit. We shuffled through ideas, quickly weighing out the pros and cons. We will Hopefully start filming again on Wednesday, this time with ore preperation.

 During a discussion, we realized that our cast had so many last minute changes that we completely forgot to post a blog for them. In he end we had to work with what we had, remove people in some scenes due to availability, and even cramp up some of the filming in a couple of hours. Back to Square 1 😭

 We showed our teacher the completed film, and he informed us that it wouldn't get a grade higher than a C. After all the work we put in to get to this point, hearing this almost completely crushed us. We asked if there was anyway to improve it, and he advised us to reshoot it. This wasn't an option for us, because we only have until Friday, and our cast members cant come over anymore due to the CIES approaching. We went back to the drawing board because no matter how stressed we were, we weren't going to let our efforts go to waste. We went through several different storylines, and came up with some good ones, however none of them could get completed before the due date. We settled on one idea, and will try to get people to act in it.

Introduction ♡

Hello. I'm Mishel Ali and I attend Islamabad College of Arts and Sciences (ICAS) as a media student. I took Media Studies as I knew it would help me in my daily life. I've also always been c aptivated by the subject but haven't yet had the opportunity to pursue it so I thought this was the best scenario. Though I was part of our school media team for a year, I couldn't do much due to my lack of experience, as well as knowledge on  how to do it well. I'm excited to learn about the various aspects of videography such as, using a green screen, editing, camera angles, etc.
