Location 3 🍽️

 For our 5th scene, we needed a nice restaurant for our two families to meet. Previously, we went looking for suitable locations, asking for permission to film there, and we ended up with 4 amazing options. Unfortunately, we could only choose one, so after some thought and consideration we decided to go with our original choice, Soho.


We feel like this matches the vibe of our film much better than the others. Gloria jeans was too small, and they allowed us to film after 5:00, which wasn't ideal due to majority of our cast and team being younger than 18. Nando's had potential, however, while talking to the staff, from beginning to end, we realized the reservation process was lengthy, which could have postponed our filming till December. We still decided to think about it, but soon understood that it seemed more like a family restaurant than one where a proposal would take place. Our decision on Nando's really sped up the process for Roundabout. We noticed that it also had more of a fast food vibe to it, which is unfitting for our scene.

 During a discussion, we realized that our cast had so many last minute changes that we completely forgot to post a blog for them. In he end we had to work with what we had, remove people in some scenes due to availability, and even cramp up some of the filming in a couple of hours. Back to Square 1 😭

 We showed our teacher the completed film, and he informed us that it wouldn't get a grade higher than a C. After all the work we put in to get to this point, hearing this almost completely crushed us. We asked if there was anyway to improve it, and he advised us to reshoot it. This wasn't an option for us, because we only have until Friday, and our cast members cant come over anymore due to the CIES approaching. We went back to the drawing board because no matter how stressed we were, we weren't going to let our efforts go to waste. We went through several different storylines, and came up with some good ones, however none of them could get completed before the due date. We settled on one idea, and will try to get people to act in it.

Introduction ♡

Hello. I'm Mishel Ali and I attend Islamabad College of Arts and Sciences (ICAS) as a media student. I took Media Studies as I knew it would help me in my daily life. I've also always been c aptivated by the subject but haven't yet had the opportunity to pursue it so I thought this was the best scenario. Though I was part of our school media team for a year, I couldn't do much due to my lack of experience, as well as knowledge on  how to do it well. I'm excited to learn about the various aspects of videography such as, using a green screen, editing, camera angles, etc.
